Three shipping winners and one loser if Strait of Hormuz reopens Industry could enjoy up to a year of upside from pent-up demand and vessel dislocation Jonas Walsgård TradeWinds correspondent Oslo Tankers Published 12 June 2026, 17:33 Shipping investors should be looking first at tanker, LPG and dry bulk stocks if an agreement leads to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, according to Fearnley Securities. Analyst Fredrik Dybwad said these sectors stand to benefit most from a combination of pent-up cargo demand, vessel repositioning and improving macroeconomic sentiment. He was commenting after reports emerged that the US had cancelled planned attacks on Iran and that a memorandum of understanding between the two countries could be signed within days.
